Miami, FL (January 26, 2016) – Mission 500, a non-profit initiative focusing on the security industry and dedicated to serving the needs of children and communities in crisis, is now accepting nominees for their 2016 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Award and their 2016 Humanitarian Award. The Awards will be presented at the Security 5/2K Awards Ceremony on April 7, 2016 during ISC West in Las Vegas.
The Mission 500 CSR Award honors a company in the security industry that has made a significant contribution to those in need. The judging criteria includes an assessment of applicants’ CSR programs as they relate to effectiveness in helping the communities they focus on, involvement of company personnel, sustainability and long term impact of the programs and activities that go beyond financial contributions.
Any company in the security industry may be nominated. A judging panel evaluates applicants according to the criteria and applicants’ contributions toward social causes. In 2015, the CSR Award was given to Fluent Home.Every year, a team from Fluent Home selects an area in need of aid and a corresponding project to help the local population, encouraging employees to travel to the site to take part in the service project.
During ISC West, Mission 500 will also present its Humanitarian Award, which recognizes individuals in the security industry who have made important contributions to those in need. The 2015 recipient was Anne Glickstein. She is a member of the Military Moms, CSAA, Fara, and TBFAA. She has also worked as a 911 Operator, and an Advanced Emergency Medical Dispatch Operator as well as routinely volunteering for food banks, clothing drives, and toy drives.
“In our seventh year we continue to be inspired by the generosity and commitment of this industry,” said George Fletcher, Advisory board member and Mission 500 volunteer. “The participation of so many individuals and organizations is vital to our mission of funding programs for those in need, and it is our honor to recognize their efforts.”
Entry forms must be completed and submitted by February 26th, 2016. Forms can be obtained by emailing George Fletcher at [email protected].
Mission 500 is also hosting its sixth 5K/2K charity run at ISC West on April 7, 2016.
