Integrated Openings Solutions (IOS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Joseph Grillo to its executive board. With over 35 years of leadership experience in the electronic security and identification industries, Joe Grillo brings a wealth of expertise in mergers and acquisitions, business growth, and strategic leadership to IOS.

Joe is widely recognized as one of the founders of HID Global, where he played a pivotal role in transforming the company into an industry leader. His leadership in driving the successful management buyout of HID Global in 1995 and his subsequent efforts in selling the business to ASSA ABLOY in 2001 established him as a formidable force in the industry. At ASSA ABLOY, Joe led the Global Technology Group, a $750 million division with 3,000 employees, and served on the company’s management board.

In 2012, Joe founded ACRE, LLC, a platform that spearheaded the consolidation of companies in the electronic security industry. Under Joe’s leadership, ACRE completed 11 acquisitions and grew to $300 million through a combination of organic growth and strategic M&A before Joe’s retirement in 2022.

“Joe’s track record in the access control and security integration space will be instrumental as IOS continues to execute on its strategic growth plan and expand our footprint in the industry,” said Joe Lopez, CEO at IOS. “His expertise will bolster our efforts as we enter our next phase of strategic growth.”

“We have prioritized and succeeded in developing our access control team and processes internally,” said Nick McCarty, President at IOS. “Bringing Joe Grillo to our team represents a new chapter for IOS, strengthening our ability to build deeper relationships within the industry.”

In addition to his role at IOS, Joe currently serves on the board of Munich-based Elatec GmbH and leads Bibliotheca, a global provider of RFID-based library systems.
