LOUD Security Systems recently earned the distinctive achievement of becoming a UL-681-certified alarm company. This elite UL (Underwriters Laboratory) designation is a specialized security alarm certification that requires that security installations meet specific stringent industry standards that align with UL guidelines.
Underwriters Laboratories is the same 3rd party and independent company that certifies electronic devices to be safe for users. UL audits, inspects, and tests products and services across the world for safety and reliability, including security, fire, and military installations.
UL-681 is a specific requirement of insurance companies and lenders for those commercial businesses providing high-value commodities or services, such as jewelry stores and banks.
Cumberland Diamond Exchange, ranked in the top 5% of jewelers in the US, is among the growing businesses requiring UL-681 certification. “We pride ourselves on offering an expansive array of high-quality diamonds and jewelry,” states President Mark Jacobson. “And we could not be more pleased knowing LOUD is protecting it with the highest standards of security.”
The 3-month process for LOUD Security to become certified was arduous and time-intensive, requiring a rigorous application, verbal testing, and multiple installation site visits to ensure the company is consistent in its compliance with UL-681 standards. Continuous education along with annual inspections audited by UL engineers are required to verify and maintain the specialized certification.
“We are proud to offer UL-certified installations and services,” noted LOUD General Manager Eric Widner. “Not only does this allow us to protect those businesses with jewelry, safes, and vaults, but this certification sets us apart as we aim to be the premier commercial provider for Metro Atlanta.”
Mike Sandes, VP of Commercial for LOUD, agrees, “The Atlanta market is growing exponentially, and so are our opportunities. We know we have to lead with excellence in our products and every installation we put our name on. UL-681 certification helps us do just that.’’
