LAS VEGAS, Nev.—The Security Industry Association (SIA) Women in Security Forum (WISF) has a special event planned for Friday, March 31, from 9:15 a.m.-11:00 a.m.., at the Bridge located on the ISC West Show Floor, sponsored by dormakaba. In addition to celebrating the 2023 honorees on the SIA Power 100 list, with many of the honorees in attendance, the breakfast event will also feature a keynote from alpinist Alison Levine, a renowned leadership coach who has climbed the highest peak on every continent, served as the team captain of the first American Women’s Everest Expedition and skied across the Arctic Circle to the geographic North Pole.
The WISF Power 100 initiative honors 100 women in the security industry each year who are role models for actively advancing diversity, inclusion, innovation and leadership in the community. This impressive list features women from many companies that appear monthly in Locksmith Ledger. For example, this year’s list includes four women from Wesco, four from Allegion, and five women from dormakaba, just to name a few.
"I am thrilled for ISC West this year, celebrating our second annual Power 100 list of amazing women, many who will be on hand for us to recognize in person, which is always a highlight for me," said SIA Women in Security Forum Chair Kasia Hanson, who is also honored to be on this year’s list. "Bringing so many of the industry's best and brightest together for a celebration on how diversity is what makes our industry so strong and vibrant is something the Women in Security Forum strives to do."
SIA CEO Don Erickson, added, “The 2023 Power 100 honorees are an inspiration to all of us in the security industry. These 100 women leaders are breaking barriers, shifting expectations and advancing diversity, equity and inclusion while taking our industry to new heights. We congratulate this year’s outstanding class of honorees and thank them for their invaluable contributions to the security industry as well as their leadership, innovation and advocacy.”
Following the breakfast, attendees will be treated to special guest speaker Levine, team captain of the first American Women's Everest Expedition team, faculty member at the Thayer Leader Development Group at West Point and the New York Times bestselling author of On the Edge. In addition to climbing mountains, Levine also spent time climbing the corporate ladder in sales, in marketing and then on Wall Street after earning her MBA from Duke University. She asserts that the principles that apply to the world of extreme adventure also apply to demanding business environments.
“We are very excited to bring another insightful and exciting Women in Security Forum Breakfast keynote featuring alpinist Alison Levine,” said Hanson. “It’s sure to be an adventure-filled and inspirational talk. It’s sure to be a packed room so be sure to add it to your schedule and join in.”
In addition to the second annual Power 100 list and breakfast event, Hanson is super excited for a new event for 2023. “SIA and ASIS are partnering to bring you the inaugural Security LeadHer Conference in June,” she noted.
