Looking to the Future
With such a wide breadth of products and solutions, ASSA ABLOY’s theme this year is “Future Forward,” as the company demonstrates how it is now poised to handle any security project.
“The world and its security requirements are constantly evolving, but no matter what the future holds, we’re ready for it,” says Foppe. “At ASSA ABLOY, we know that the future is about smart, evolutionary technologies that help people move through the world safely. We encourage attendees to visit our booths to discover a world of access solutions designed to meet today’s security challenges — and tomorrow’s.”
Another way the company is looking to the future is with the launch of Learning Labs within the ASSA ABLOY booth #8061, which includes expert-led sessions, held at the top of each hour each day, providing insights into the latest advancements in access solutions. Examples of sessions include Protecting Your EAC Investment, Biometrics Simplified, Access Control for Glass Openings, and Data Center Security, to name just a few.
“Whether you're looking to enhance your current security measures or prepare for future challenges, the Learning Lab was designed for people to gain knowledge quickly and discover innovative solutions that are shaping the security landscape,” Foppe points out.
ASSA ABLOY is also hosting its 19th Annual ASSA ABLOY Breakfast at ISC West this year, featuring a session, Beyond Compliance, The Surprising Effects of Government Regulations on Your Business, which will dive into the latest government policies and regulations that shape the security landscape. Session highlights:
· Insights on how government policies and regulations influence security strategies.
· Challenges and opportunities for enhancing protection measures.
· Best practices for navigating regulatory requirements.
The panel includes Angelo Faenza, head of Digital Access Solutions with ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions; Jeff Huggins, VP Government Programs & National Accounts, ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions; Doris Locking, VP Advisory Services with Strategic Cyber Partners; and Jake Parker, senior director, Government Relations, with Security Industry Association (SIA). The breakfast panel session will be held on Thursday, April 3 from 8am – 9:30am in Ballroom H at the Venetian Resort.
New Products and Solutions
There are several new products in the ASSA ABLOY portfolio that the company is unveiling this week, including:
· The Bruken DL-GS3550 Digital Lock, which offers keyless access control for all-glass interior openings with three modes of access: fingerprint identification, numeric passcode, and smart card, making it ideal for retrofit applications.
· The iDFace Max from Control iD, a state-of-the-art device for monitoring and controlling entry through facial identification. The device is capable of identifying up to 100,000 faces with advanced features like face liveness detection and mask identification.
· The Corbin Russwin ML2000 Series MELR Mortise Locks, which provide robust security for commercial and industrial environments, featuring quick latch retraction and low power consumption.
· The DoorBird D31TDV IP video intercom is designed for multi-tenant buildings, offering advanced security features and seamless integration options.
· The SARGENT 10X Line Lock, which introduces new status indicators for enhanced privacy and safety, perfect for high-use areas like restrooms and classrooms.
· The Centrios Pro Plan expands our cloud-based platform, allowing businesses to connect up to 50 devices and manage access for 200 users, with the option to use physical cards alongside mobile-based access.
· Preview of the OptiCoat sublimation finish technology. OptiCoat is “revolutionizing aesthetics by transforming ordinary metals into stunning, high-end finishes that mimic the natural beauty of wood or marble,” says Foppe, noting that through an advanced sublimation process, OptiCoat infuses realistic textures and patterns into metal surfaces, creating finishes that are not only visually striking but also incredibly durable.
“We are thrilled to present full-size opening displays for Control iD’s iDFace Max and DoorBird IP Video Intercoms at the show,” notes Foppe.” These full-size displays will allow us to showcase the products in a real-world application. Additionally, we will feature the Norshield FE/BR (forced entry/bullet resistant) Door, which offers the utmost in DOS (U.S. Department of State) certified ballistic and forced-entry resistance.
He adds that the company is also excited about the success of Centrios (see more in tomorrow’s ISC West daily newletter), the access management platform for small and growing businesses, which returns after exhibiting at ISC West last year for the first time.
“Since then, Centrios won multiple best new solution awards and has grown to become available across hardware and electronic security distributors nationwide,” explains Foppe. “Traction in the field is growing with customer sites now including doctor’s offices, preschools, car dealerships, offices, and religious facilities.”
Centrios is launching two major updates here this week, including its new Padlock, a weatherproof and rechargeable lock that allows users to manage access to virtually anything they can put a padlock on — right from the Centrios app, and the Centrios Pro Plan, a new service tier that expands system capacity to 200 users and 50 devices, as well as adds support for the new Centrios Cards and Fobs, and enables .csv data imports to quickly set up a system.
“Centrios is executing on its customer promise to continually innovate to offer value-added products, features, and services to serve channel partners and end users,” adds Foppe. “In response to market and field feedback, Centrios has been listening — and they’re responding with practical, forward-thinking solutions for growing businesses.”
