Layering perimeter protection tools such as thermal cameras, visual cameras, and radar can be the most effective way to secure critical infrastructure sites. These sites rely on 24/7 perimeter intrusion detection systems (PIDS) to identify threats, track targets, and ensure unauthorized people or vehicles don’t have the opportunity to approach. With a layered security approach that combines radar, visual imaging, and thermal imaging—particularly pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) products with both thermal and visual cameras—sites are able to detect threats over large areas, at long ranges, and also close at hand.
