Kent, WA – July 2021 – ISC West 2021 – Booth 6108 – HySecurity, a Nice company and global leader in perimeter security solutions, today announced plans to demonstrate remote monitoring, management, and operation of offsite gate operators using advanced HyNet™ connectivity at ISC West 2021 within the HySecurity booth (#6108).
While perimeter security solutions may appear to be static, disconnected devices in a world of evolving technologies, savvy facilities managers and security professionals understand they are a key component of the security infrastructure. “By integrating an ethernet connection into the gate operator board, many elements of basic gate operation and management can be done more efficiently from a remote or centralized location,” said John Allen, senior product manager with HySecurity. “Connected gate operators present a novel solution that streamlines administration of perimeter security access points, specifically by enabling remote access for monitoring, management, and operation of automated gates: three tasks that when performed remotely, can deliver a smarter, safer, and more secure experience.”
At ISC West 2021, HySecurity will offer attendees the ability to experience a live demonstration of in-the-field access point administration and highlight the benefits remote monitoring, management, and operation can provide to dealers, facility managers, and security professionals. In cooperation with Southwest Automated Security, HySecurity will demonstrate the ability to control a StrongArm® M30 and SlideDriver™ located in Dallas, TX via HyNet. From hundreds of miles away, a live video feed will show the gate operator in action as the HySecurity team remotely configures, operates, and demonstrates automatic threat and status notifications from the ISC West 2021 tradeshow floor.
In order to achieve UL325 compliance, all commercial gate operators must include sensors protecting entrapment zones. Intelligent gate operators can make use of these required photo eyes and sensors to alert end-users and service technicians of fault conditions, thus enabling remote monitoring. From a management perspective, connected gate operators enable routine setting adjustments from afar, mitigating the need to send a service technician to a job site to access a control board. Lastly, service technicians can perform over-the-air software updates and greatly reduce the need for costly and time-consuming call backs through remote diagnostics.
“Gate operators perform a relatively basic task but, by integrating connected technology like HyNet, monitoring, management, and operation of access points can become even more efficient,” explains Allen. “By modernizing their solutions, dealers and installers can add value to service contracts as they identify and solve their customers’ issues before those customers are even aware they have one in many cases.”

About HySecurity
HySecurity was founded in the 1960s with a mission to provide safe, reliable, and secure gate automation solutions. The company found early success with its industrial Hydraulic gate operators, including the industry leading SlideDriver™ model line. The company then expanded its portfolio to include traffic control and introduced StrongArm®, a multi-lane barrier arm that laid the foundation for the future evolution of the company. In 2011 HySecurity developed the StrongArm® M30/M50 crash-rated barrier with a patented dual-arm design that quickly became a leading Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM) solution for perimeter security applications. The company has since continued to expand its portfolio of perimeter security offerings to become a global leader in the segment. HySecurity was acquired by Nice in 2016 and is the gate & barrier division of Nice North America, colloquially referred to as Nice | HySecurity.
