Podcast Recap: How systems integrators can thrive in a world of ever-changing technology

Aug. 2, 2024
Sweeney discusses the evolving role of systems integrators and the challenges of securing hybrid work environments.

Recent years have seen leaps and bounds in technological advancements, forcing industry players to adapt at a breakneck pace just to hold their ground. Roles have been redefined, and that is especially true for systems integrators, who must now navigate new responsibilities and regulations to find their foothold.

In this recent episode of SecurityDNA, host Steve Lasky of SecurityInfoWatch.com is joined by Dave Sweeney, District Director for the Mid-Atlantic region for The Cook & Boardman Group, including Advantech, to discuss the dealer’s perspective on the turbulent technology landscape, how integrators can keep up with constantly changing security certifications and regulations, and the challenges IT professionals face when keeping hybrid work environments secure.

Sweeney: “The speed at which advancements have come has increased dramatically, and that has made it challenging as an integrator to maintain a subject of expertise.”

Dave Sweeney has dedicated his nearly 20-year career to Advantech, where he served as Director of Sales, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Executive Officer. In addition to his current role as Mid-Atlantic District Director at Advantech’s division of The Cook & Boardman Group, Sweeney also serves as a member of Security-Net’s executive board and on the Honeywell Dealer Advisory Council.
