ALC-3316 9-Channel Amplified Loudspeaker Controller from Pro Audio Technology
Denver, CO – CEDIA Expo 2019 – Booth #SR-6 – September 10 – 14, 2019 – Pro Audio Technology (PRO), the leading supplier of high-output loudspeakers and DSP loudspeaker controllers, announces the ALC-3316, the company’s first 9-channel Amplified Loudspeaker Controller. Powering a PRO S and SR Series 11.4.6-channel Dolby Atmos system, CEDIA Expo attendees can hear the ALC-3316 for the first time in an exclusive demo with Dolby’s CP850-C Cinema Processor, implemented by Cortex VIP Cinemas in SR-6.
The new PRO ALC-3316 includes a 96kHz / 32-bit DSP processing engine and combines the functionality of a multichannel DSP processor, high-power multichannel home theater and distributed audio amplifier, multichannel mixing amplifier, high-resolution loudspeaker processor, and multichannel bass management – all packed into a 1U chassis.
High-Power Multichannel Amplifier: The fan-less, 1U ALC-3316 offers three 300W high-current amplifier channels for subwoofer drive, plus six 100W bridgeable amplifier channels to drive full range loudspeakers. As such, the ALC-3316 supports 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 7.1 7.2 and the new 5.2.2 Dolby Atmos formats.
Multichannel DSP Processor: The ALC-3316 includes 80 user-programmable parametric EQ filters (10 per channel), plus gain adjustment, source signals for system diagnosis and delay of up to 75msec per channel for on-site system-wide optimization and calibration.
High Resolution Loudspeaker Processor: At the heart of the ALC-3316 lies a 96kHz / 32-bit DSP engine for all Pro Audio Technology loudspeaker and subwoofer products with over 140 IIR filters, 8 FIR filters, intelligent power-limiting, and delay. It is this processing engine that makes PRO’s thrilling sound possible.
Mixing/Distributed Audio Amplifier: The ALC-3316 includes a full 8×8 matrix mixer, mic input, all-channel priority ducking/paging, four stereo plus mono-sum inputs, bass and treble controls and up to 75msecs delay per channel – useful in today’s large distributed outdoor systems. The ALC ducking feature and mic input enable priority paging in commercial distributed audio installations. In residential systems, 8×8 automatic ducking allows new voice-activated control devices to page any or all of the audio zones within a distributed system.
Bass Manager: For the first time in a residential multichannel amplifier, the ALC-3316 can steer low frequency energy to any of the eight balanced analog audio inputs to any amplifier output enabling distributed bass management in home theater and distributed audio applications. Full range speakers can easily be bass-managed to nearby subwoofers or even other larger full range loudspeakers.
PRO’s 21-channel S and SR Series loudspeaker system demo powered by ALC-3316 Amplifier Loudspeaker Controllers is rounded out by Dolby’s CP850-C Cinema Processor implemented by Cortex VIP Cinemas – a worldwide representative of Dolby Laboratories’ professional cinema products for home use.
“We are delighted to have the new groundbreaking CP850-C Audio Processor showcased as part of Pro Audio Technology’s sound room during this year’s CEDIA Expo,” says Cortex VIP Cinemas co-founder Steve Evanitsky. “We recently approached PRO about the challenges we encounter getting speakers properly placed and angled per Dolby specifications in the luxury systems we design for integrators. PRO engineered specific SR Series loudspeaker models along with pivoting brackets to solve that problem, and now we are able to demonstrate and install the ultimate Dolby Atmos theater, starting with CEDIA Expo.”
“A perfect match to PRO’s engineering philosophy, the Dolby CP850-C is designed for high-end residential theaters, and yet embodies the same hardware and software components utilized in commercial theaters across the globe,” said PRO President and Product Designer, Paul Hales. “I look forward to showing CEDIA attendees the pinnacle of residential theater cinema systems.”
PRO’s new ALC-3316 Loudspeaker Controller will be available in October, as well as demoed and on display at CEDIA Expo in booth #SR-6, September 10 – 14, 2019. Interested dealers can contact their Pro Audio Technology rep or distributor directly for pricing.
