Yale Assure Locks with Zigbee offer Alexa voice control with Amazon Echo Plus
BERLIN, Conn, January 31, 2018 – Yale Locks & Hardware today announced that its Yale Real Living® Assure Lock® with Zigbee®, available in several different models including slim touchscreen, keyed touchscreen and keyed push button versions, connect directly to Amazon Echo Plus for Alexa compatibility, no additional hub or apps required.
With its built-in Zigbee smart home hub, Echo Plus makes it easy to connect and control Yale Assure Locks with Zigbee. Just say “Alexa, discover my devices” and Echo Plus will discover and connect to a Yale Assure Lock with Zigbee. Once connected, customers can lock their door and check current lock status by saying “Alexa, lock my front door” or “Alexa, is my back door locked?” Customers can also lock doors or check their lock status using the Alexa app.
“Echo Plus makes it simple for consumers to create their smart home and connect to compatible devices, including our entire series of Assure Locks with Zigbee,” said Jason Williams, President, ASSA ABLOY U.S. Residential Group, which includes Yale Residential. “Now it’s easier and more convenient than ever for consumers to control Yale locks with voice commands.”
The Yale Assure Lock family includes a broad range of Zigbee smart locks, including both keyfree and keyed versions, with a choice of pushbutton or touchscreen keypads. The series includes the new Assure Lock SL, the slimmest smart lock on the market. All Assure Locks feature Yale’s unique modular approach, which allows consumers to purchase a standalone PIN-controlled lock and at any time add a Zigbee Network Module for compatibility with Echo Plus.
Direct Echo Plus compatibility for Yale Assure Locks with Zigbee is Yale’s most recent expansion of its offerings for Amazon customers through Amazon compatible products and solutions, including Alexa devices and Amazon Key, the Amazon’s in-home delivery service.
