NRF partners with The Power of Preparedness to enhance retail safety and security training
The National Retail Federation today announced a new collaboration with The Power of Preparedness (TPOP), a provider of online training solutions and resources focused on workplace violence prevention in the retail sector. This collaboration aims to provide NRF’s network of retailers with enhanced safety and security training to help protect employees, customers, and businesses in today’s increasingly complex retail risk environment.
Through this partnership, NRF members have access to TPOP's comprehensive, on-demand training modules customized specifically to retail environments. These resources will focus on critical preparedness and response topics, including de-escalation scenarios and techniques, interactions with the homeless/unhoused, responding to robberies, safe responses to shoplifters, active assailant response, and overall workplace security strategies. These solutions will provide various tools and resources to NRF members at a discounted rate, ensuring that retailers of all sizes can build programs to meet their needs nationally and for specific state compliance.
“Safety and security are a top priority for the retail community,” NRF Vice President of Asset Protection and Retail Operations David Johnston said. “Our partnership with TPOP ensures that retailers, regardless of size or segment, have access to resources to foster safer environments for employees and customers. We are proud to be working with TPOP to advance this critical mission.”
“The retail sector faces unique security challenges, and we are thrilled to collaborate with NRF to bring our customized training solutions to their members,” The Power of Preparedness CEO Daniel Stechow said. “At TPOP, we believe that preparedness is the best safeguard, and we are dedicated to providing relevant, actionable training that manages liability and helps retail employees feel empowered and confident in the face of potential threats. Together, we can help create safer spaces for everyone involved in the retail experience.”
The new training initiative is part of NRF's ongoing commitment to supporting the retail industry with tools and resources that enhance operational resilience and security.
