The Security Industry Association (SIA) awarded the 2015 George R. Lippert Memorial Award to Frank De Fina posthumously, as well as the Jay Hauhn Excellence in Partnerships Award to Ray Coulombe of SecuritySpecifiers.com at its annual SIA Honors Night, held in New York during ISC-East.
De Fina, who passed away suddenly in July, served as senior director, strategic sales, for Hikvision USA. Prior to joining Hikvision, his leadership in the security industry had a powerful impact on companies such as Panasonic, Samsung Techwin America and SightLogix.
De Fina’s wife, Patricia De Fina, and son Frank Jr., accepted the award on his behalf. The Lippert Award, which was founded in 1989, is named for George R. Lippert, who dedicated more than 20 years of his life to the security industry and SIA. Recipients of this yearly award are honored for their exceptional service and their reputation for being a goodwill ambassador for SIA and the security industry.
Coulombe received the Hauhn Award award for his work to increase collaboration between SIA and the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI).
“Ray was an incredible volunteer and leader on SIA’s project to update Division 28 of the Construction Specifications Institute MasterFormat — a project that involved dozens of volunteers, many of whom participated at Ray’s personal invitation,” SIA CEO Don Erickson said in a statement.
