GLENDALE -- One man is dead after stolen car chase led to a shooting at Luke Air Force Base, authorities said.

Glendale police tried to pull over a stolen car just after midnight, police said. The suspects drove to Luke Air Force Base and went through one of the security gates the wrong way.

A civilian security guard on the base got out of his car and tried to confront the suspects; however, the suspects drove toward the officer, and he shot at the car, police said.

The car crashed, killing one of the men.

It's unclear if the suspect was killed from the shooting or the crash. Police did not identify either of the men.

Glendale police are investigating the incident.
