Southwick, MA, August 31, 2021 — The KP-HD3005G high-performance, global shutter camera from Hitachi Kokusai Electric America, Ltd. (Hitachi Kokusai) has been honored by the Security Industry Association (SIA) as the winner of the 2021 SIA New Product Showcase Award in the Video Surveillance Camera category. Presented in partnership with ISC West, the nation’s largest converged security trade show, the SIA’s flagship awards program recognizes innovative new security products, services and solutions.
Since its inception in 1979, the SIA New Product Showcase has been the security industry’s premier product awards program. New products are reviewed by a panel of judges with extensive industry experience and in 2021, more than 30 judges presented awards for technologies covering 25 product and service categories, along with the Best New Product Award and the prestigious Judges’ Choice Award. The KP-HD3005G was featured alongside other 2021 SIA New Product Showcase entries and in Hitachi Kokusai’s own booth on the ISC West show floor.
The KP-HD3005G color camera offers high-performance, full HD acquisition for crucial imaging applications in a compact form factor. Its 2/3-inch, 2.38-megapixel, global shutter CMOS sensor minimizes or eliminates the motion artifacts typical of “rolling shutter” cameras, thus improving detection of moving objects such as drones. Additional features include high sensitivity for video capture in limited illumination; digital zoom; multi-format video output including 1080p at 59.94 frames per second over 3G-SDI; fog mitigation; auto iris; and white balance control.
“We are thrilled that the SIA has recognized the KP-HD3005G as the 2021 award winner for the best new surveillance camera,” said John Fisher, National Sales Manager, Crucial Imaging Division, Hitachi Kokusai Electric America Ltd. “The KP-HD3005G is an ideal complement to our popular KP-HD2005R camera that has been successfully used on major DHS projects including MVSS (mobile vehicle surveillance systems), RVSS (remote vehicle surveillance systems) and IFT (integrated fixed towers).”
“Each year, SIA’s New Product Showcase challenges companies to develop extraordinary, cutting-edge security technology products and solutions, and this year’s winners represent the industry’s best new offerings,” said SIA CEO Don Erickson. “SIA congratulates Hitachi Kokusai for standing out among the entries in this highly competitive program.”
