Aliso Viejo, CA, USA 19 February 2016 – At ISC West this year, KBC Networks will be demonstrating how some of their customers have incorporated New Generation ThruLink™ into their security systems, to provide both secure and resilient communications.
ThruLink allows real-time, encrypted video, voice and data to be transmitted over public networks such as the internet or 3G/4G/LTE. It enables users to take full advantage of public infrastructure whilst maintaining data security. Included in the applications that KBC will be highlighting are a secure transmission system over a 4G network, and a 4G failover solution that keeps signals flowing should a fixed connection fail.
Since the new generation of products was launched, ThruLink devices have been employed by banking, transport, security, police and government organizations. ThruLink is currently protecting video, voice and financial data from ATM sites; providing secure remote access to confidential data, and is being used to stream live, encrypted video from patrol vehicles.
In addition to its encryption capabilities, many of the ThruLink applications have made significant cost savings for end users by allowing them to replace leased lines with secure connections over the internet and 4G/LTE. And with simple setup and minimal maintenance, many of KBC’s customers have found extra savings in a reduced number of engineering site visits. With failover and its ability to auto-reconnect after a network outage, customers have reported that ThruLink has proved to be virtually maintenance free.
ThruLink provides both channel optimization and a high level of encryption. It allows the customer to choose from a number of cyphers including AES, Blowfish and Camellia – up to 256bit, and employs a unique, two-way authentication process. It doesn’t require licenses and needs no changes to the network’s existing infrastructure. The family of ThruLink products includes standard and standard plus models for up to 4 cameras as well as high capacity and high capacity plus units that are designed for large-scale applications. The range also includes models with embedded 3G/4G/LTE.
