    Low-voltage wiring provider Windy City Wire has debuted an online wiring design software tool to help dealers and low-voltage contractors.

    The online software tool, known as the SmartWire System Design Tool, is online at www.smartwire.com. The tool allows designers to specify what devices will be used in the system, and then it allows the user to select the wiring appropriate for the application.

    The software allows designers to estimate wiring distance/footage requirements, device locations, and can create an address, marking and labeling scheme specific to each and every device and location.
