Arecont Vision, a manufacturer of IP-based megapixel surveillance cameras, announced on Monday that Scott Schafer, who has served as its executive vice president for the past nine years, has left the company. The company said in a statement that Schafer will not be leaving the industry entirely as he is the incoming chairman-elect of the Security Industry Association (SIA) for 2018.
Arecont Vision also announced a number of other changes in its executive leadership team on Monday, including the promotion of Raul Calderon to chief operating officer and general manager. Calderon, who most recently served as senior vice president, joined the company in 2007 as vice president of strategic relations, and later as vice president of marketing and product management. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles.
“Raul has proven his strong vision and his outstanding management skills during his 10 years of increasing responsibilities and successful assignments with the company,” said Dr. Michael Kaplinsky, CEO of Arecont Vision. “Consolidating key aspects of the business under his leadership will enhance the efficiency of our global operations and ensure our ongoing success.”

Other promotions announced by the company this week include:
- Kyle Parker, vice president, Americas. Parker, who previously served as vice president, North America sales west, first joined Arecont Vision in 2013 as regional sales director, north central. In his new assignment, Parker will lead the company’s sales efforts across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Latin America. Based in the greater Chicago area, Parker is a graduate of Northwestern University, with a Master’s of Science, Marketing.
- Mitch Fagundes, vice president, global strategic accounts. Fagundes most recently was the director of business development for Arecont Vision. He joined the company in 2011 as regional sales manager, Pacific Northwest. In this new assignment, Fagundes has global responsibility for strategic accounts, distributors, systems integrators, and both the A&E and consultant communities, uniting these key areas together for Arecont Vision for the first time. Fagundes is based in Fresno, Calif., and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business with an Entrepreneurship focus from California State University, Fresno.
- Sanjit Bardhan, vice president, Europe, Middle East, Africa, and India (EMEAI). Bardhan, who is based in Dubai, UAE, joined Arecont Vision in 2011 as a regional manager for the Middle East and North Africa. He was promoted to director in 2013 and later vice president of the expanded territory of the Middle East, India, and Africa in 2016. Bardhan holds a B.E. (Honors) in Computer Science and Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science.
- Paul Tagga, managing director of Europe. Taggar has been the Arecont Vision sales leader for the UK and Ireland since 2012. With this promotion, Tagger is now responsible for all European sales activity and the leadership of his team across the region and will report to Bardhan. He resides in Leicestershire, in the East Midlands, UK, and is a graduate of the University of Leicester, with a degree in Business Studies.
