BEDFORD, Mass. (June 4, 2007) – VideoIQ, Inc. today announced the addition of Kenneth Boyda to its board of directors. With the recent spinout of its business from GE Security, Inc. and the formation of an independent company, Boyda's deep industry knowledge and proven executive leadership will play a key role in helping VideoIQ build on its leadership position in the video analytics marketplace.
Boyda is a security industry veteran with 20 years of experience providing strategic direction for leading security companies, including GE Security, Inc. where he held the position of president and chief executive officer, and most recently by advising and investing in rapidly emerging technology companies. GE Security was formed through General Electric's acquisition of Interlogix, Inc., a public company (NASDAQ) and leader in technology development and manufacturing for the electronic security industry.
Boyda served as president, CEO and director of Interlogix until the company was acquired in 2002. Prior to Interlogix, Boyda was president and CEO of predecessor security companies SLC Technologies and Sentrol. Over a fifteen-year period, he grew the security business from revenues of $32 million into a global industry leader with revenues of $2 billion. Previously, he held senior management positions with Colortran Inc., and American Can Company.
