MicroPower Technologies' newly updated Rugged-i is a solar-powered, wireless surveillance camera that reduces power consumption by as much as 90 percent without compromising video quality or reliability. The fully self-contained, outdoor camera allows for placement practically anywhere. The MicroPower wireless architecture results in significantly lower installation and acquisition costs over solutions that require trenching or large external solar panels, and its TrustLinx technology transfers video more efficiently and effectively than standard wireless cameras.
As many as six Rugged-i cameras can be networked with the MicroPower wireless video hub, the MiniHub. The wireless connection range between the Rugged-i camera and the MiniHub has been tested to reliably operate in distances up to one-half of a mile using omni-directional antennas. The hub, in turn, controls each camera in the network, decodes the video, and transfers the footage to an NVR managed by a video management system.
