CHELMSFORD, Mass. – May 15, 2012 – Axis Communications, the world leader in network video, introduces a unique, outdoor-ready IP video surveillance cabinet that combines and protects multiple electrical system components – such as a midspan, power supply, media converter, surge protector and fuse – in an easy-to-install, sleek design that blends together with Axis network cameras. Any of the four AXIS T98A-VE Surveillance Cabinet Series models can be installed on a wall, pole or building corner, and will protect mains power and low-voltage units from tough weather and vandalism:
- AXIS T98A15-VE to be used in a standalone installation;
- AXIS T98A16-VE to be used with AXIS P13-E Network Cameras;
- AXIS T98A17-VE to be used with AXIS P33-VE Fixed Dome Network Cameras;
- AXIS T98A18-VE to be used in conjunction with a wall bracket for mounting Axis pan/tilt/zoom (PTZ) and other fixed dome network cameras.
AXIS T98A-VE Surveillance Cabinet Series comes with a mounting plate to simplify the step-by-step installation and protect cable attachments. For better installation and improve cost efficiency, the inner compartment with a DIN rail can be split into two sections: one to fit mains power units and a second for low-voltage units that do not require installation by a certified electrician. Axis IP surveillance cameras are then mounted on the cabinet door for a final all-in-one design.
The cabinet is IP66-rated for protection against the ingress of dust and high pressure water jets, as well as IK10-rated for protection against impact and vandalism. An optional electrical safety kit is available, which includes surge protection, a fuse and an alarm-door switch to detect cabinet intrusion or damage.
