Westford, MA. -- August 1, 2013 –– American Dynamics, part of the Security Products business unit of Tyco (NYSE: TYC), has introduced the Illustra 625 PTZ High Definition (Full HD) IP camera, designed for applications where locating, tracking and zooming in on subject details are critical. The high-performance camera delivers multiple, full-digital path 1080p/30ips video streams in H.264 and MJPEG resolution for crystal clear images.
The exceptional speed of the Illustra 625 HD PTZ coupled with ultra-low latency performance gives security personnel the ability to accurately track subjects in mission-critical applications. The camera tracks a scene with the precision you would expect from an analog PTZ camera. In real-time monitoring applications, such as casinos, banks and retail stores, accurate tracking can mean the difference between making a handsome profit and losing hundreds of thousands of dollars each year through theft.
One of the primary shortcomings of PTZ technology in the IP space has been latency. For security professionals whose performance depends on the precision of their equipment, the analog PTZ camera has maintained a leadership position for low latency PTZ controls – until now. Based on latency testing standards used by the U.S. Air Force and NASA, the Illustra 625 PTZ camera delivers analog-like precision with megapixel resolution.
The Illustra 625 HD PTZ employs zoom-adjusted program (ZAP) technology to automatically control the pan and tilt speed in proportion to the amount of zoom used, delivering precise pan and tilt control. Exceptional gearing and braking designs deliver pan and tilt speeds and accuracy that surpass the maximum speed and return-to-position accuracy of competitive HD PTZ cameras. Using programmed presets and tours, the Illustra 625 HD PTZ moves into position at an amazing 512° per second. In its automated modes, the camera delivers HD video from scene to scene in just fractions of a second.
“The exceptionally low latency for controlling analog PTZ cameras that customers have grown accustomed to was our benchmark in developing the 625 PTZ camera,” said Joel White, senior product manager for American Dynamics. “With the new Illustra PTZ our customers now have an extremely high performance 1080p HD PTZ that delivers the same control precision and accuracy of analog.”
The Illustra 625 HD PTZ camera supports the complete feature set of the ONVIF 2.2 profile S specification for IP PTZ cameras, which allows for a high level of integration of recording platforms that comply with this specification. ONVIF 2.2 profile S aids end users and system designers in determining interoperable components of a physical security solution.
This PTZ camera is supported by the latest version of the Illustra Connect camera configuration software. Using the Illustra Connect batch setup feature for IP address assignment makes the setup of multiple cameras automatic saving valuable time. This camera is compatible with existing Illustra 600 Mini-Dome and IP SpeedDome mounts for a variety of mounting options and a more simplified installation.
American Dynamics supplies a superior end-to-end solution with Illustra IP cameras, the VideoEdge NVR and victor client.
