(INDIANAPOLIS)—Exacq Technologies, part of the Security Products business unit of Tyco, introduces the ability to set up and manage failover on exacqVision servers with exacqVision 6.6 and Enterprise System Manager (ESM) version 3.0, a health monitoring program for use with exacqVision Enterprise networked video recorders (NVRs). The new exacqVision version 6.6 VMS (video management system) also includes updates to the views and event monitoring features in exacqVision, faster searching with the Exacq mobile app and additional updates to ESM.
The new ESM failover functionality continually monitors exacqVision recorders. A system failure can be detected within 15-30 seconds and an actual failover to a spare server or servers can be automatically instigated in a matter of minutes. Failover functions include IP cameras, recording schedules, user rights, event linking, serial profiles, archiving configuration and more. Once the protected recorder is back online, ESM automatically transfers all functionality back to the original server. Users can also use ESM Failover to perform manual failover on exacqVision recorders at any time to conduct system maintenance.
“The new ESM Failover feature adds substantial value to our exacqVision enterprise solution,” notes Scott Dennison, Director of Marketing, Exacq Technologies. “We recognized the need for our customers to maximize video recorder uptime and delivered a failover solution to ensure video recording is never interrupted.”
In addition to the new failover feature, ESM version 3.0 also adds features that improve server user management over an enterprise network. This makes it easier for system administrators to add and remove servers and users from defined groups.
exacqVision 6.6 gives users and system administrators greater flexibility and personalization when creating and using the views feature. Views can now be shared with all users, shared with a defined group of users or kept private to individual users. Version 6.6 also provides increased event monitoring flexibility. Users can prioritize events to ensure the most important events always display first. Additionally, users can drag live cameras into an event monitoring video panel at any time. These updates to event monitoring ensure that the most important video is always in front of an active viewer. Version 6.6 of exacqVision adds support for over 100 new IP camera models from leading manufacturers including American Dynamics, Arecont Vision, Axis, Bosch , Panasonic, Samsung, and Vivotek. The exacqVision VMS now supports nearly 2,200 IP camera models.
The latest Exacq Mobile app (Version 3.10) for iOS, Android and Windows Phone 8 devices now utilizes the same SpeedSearch functionality found in the full client software. SpeedSearch provides significantly faster search results as video frames automatically populate on the screen for faster investigations. This is an ideal solution for searching video over low-bandwidth connections using mobile devices that rely on cellular data.
The exacqVision VMS is accessed with the freely distributed exacqVision client software (Windows/Linux/Mac), the exacqVision free web browser client available for all leading web browsers (Google Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari and Opera), as well as the free Exacq Mobile app for iOS, Android and Windows Phone 8 devices. The VMS software is included with pre-configured exacqVision recorders or it can be installed on third-party Windows or Linux based systems.
