IRVINE, CA, JUNE 6, 2016 -- Toshiba Surveillance and IP Video Products, a business unit of Toshiba America Information Systems, announced the launch of a new NVR recording platform that records locally while leveraging the benefits of cloud-based services to provide their reseller partners with increased profitability and provide end-users with cutting-edge solutions that streamline operations and add value to their entire organization.
“This product has been built from the ground up with two main purposes in mind: providing end-user customers with increased ease of use and on-going system management and providing our reseller partners with increased profitability while creating or enhancing recurring revenue opportunities for them.” said Greg Hartzell, Director of Toshiba’s surveillance division.
While Percept recorders can function as a traditional stand-alone NVR, they were purposely built to leverage the power of the cloud. Key benefits to end-user customers include:
- Virtual elimination of software client installation and upgrades
- Simplified user permissions management
- Greatly improved remote connectivity by leveraging a single universal sign-on
- Greatly improved ability to export and share video clips.
The single universal sign-on allows users to access their recorders from anywhere with almost any device (PC, phone, tablet) by entering a single user name and password, doing away with integration hassles, reducing tech support time, and improving security by eliminating improperly stored passwords.
Video clips can be easily exported to the cloud where they can be remotely viewed, searched, downloaded and shared with colleagues or law enforcement.
Key benefits to reseller partners include:
- Reduced install time
- Reduced cost of service calls / reduction in non-revenue generating service calls
- Reduced time spent on on-going management of system configurations and user rights.
- Opportunity to build or enhance recurring revenue stream.
By leveraging Surveillix(R) Web Services (SWS), Percept recorders provide centralized user management and make it easier than ever to navigate complex networks and to access an entire surveillance system via an intuitive interface accessible on a PC or mobile device. Virtually all aspects of user rights and system settings/configurations can be remotely managed, saving time and money.
Adding to system flexibility is the wide variety of ONVIF-compliant network cameras that are compatible with Percept recorders. Toshiba IP cameras, as well as those from all major IP camera manufacturers, can be plugged into a broadband router where SWS will auto-negotiate with servers to bring it online. In most cases, this next generation solution eliminates the need for port forwarding so that both lag and remote connection issues are greatly reduced.
Toshiba Percept E-Series recorders are designed for enterprise-class applications. Available with a maximum of 64 IP video inputs and 16 audio channels, Percept E-Series recorders locally store up to 96TB of video. Percept M-Series recorders are for small- to mid-sized applications with a maximum of 32 channels of IP video and 24TB of local video storage. M-Series recorders are offered with 8 or 16 channel optional built-in integrated PoE+ ports with plug-and-play capability.
Both the Percept M-Series and E-Series are compatible with Toshiba's MySurveillix™ service that monitors and reports on the health of the surveillance system. It has a robust range of features allowing users to quickly check the system's functionality, set alarms and define filters to alert via SMS or email, and identify and fix any problems when they happen, not after a critical event occurs and fails to be captured.
Toshiba Percept recorders are backed by a three-year warranty and one-year advance replacement. For more information, visit www.toshibasecurity.com
