Liberty Lake, WASH. – Jan. 11, 2018 – OpenEye, a leading provider of cloud managed video surveillance solutions, announces the introduction of Alerts and Reports for OpenEye Web Services (OWS). Alerts and Reports is an entirely new module of OWS which aggregates event data from a customer’s site to the cloud in order to produce actionable business intelligence which customers can use to improve their security and operations. Event data is collected from the recorder’s own motion and sensor analytics as well as gathered from other edge devices connected to the system, such as alarm panels and external sensors.
“Alerts and Reports will improve the OWS experience and provide a better value proposition for users of our products,” said OpenEye CEO Rick Sheppard. “The data being collected grants insight into operational events to provide valuable business intelligence and expand the recorder’s benefits far beyond video surveillance.”
Events received in the cloud are viewable via interactive reports online or can be configured to notify users in real time based on customizable parameters such as duration or frequency. Recorder and camera health data is also collected and can be used to proactively notify users of potential problems with their hardware.
Moving forward, OpenEye plans to expand the Alert and Report features further by integrating additional 3rd party access control systems, camera edge analytics, and other Internet of Things (IoT) devices to create a fully consolidated digital network.
“OpenEye is committed to delivering exceptional value, beyond just video surveillance, for the OWS platform” said Ian Siemer director of Product Management, “we will continue developing new features and partnerships to achieve this goal.”
