Hauppauge, NY | March 14, 2022 — Vicon Industries, Inc., a subsidiary of Cemtrex Inc. (Nasdaq: CETX, CETXP, CETXW), designer and manufacturer of video surveillance and access control software, hardware, and components, announced today the early adopter release of their Valerus VMS. This release helps customers further centralize their security operation through Valerus’ license plate recognition and access control Integration Frameworks, gives users more storage and archiving flexibility, and improves the overall user experience. They will be showcasing Valerus 22.1 at ISC West 2022 in Las Vegas. Attendees can view Valerus at the Vicon booth # 7083 from March 23-25 at the Venetian Expo.
With the latest updates to the Integration Framework, users can monitor license plate recognition and access control from Valerus’ streamlined interface. They can see and respond to live events as they happen, view associated video, and trigger door overrides–such as lockdowns–without leaving the monitoring window. The integration also allows users to manage alarms from LPR, access control, and video centrally, thereby expediting responses, streamlining reporting, and simplifying day-to-day management.
“We’ve made tremendous progress towards true platform centralization since the beginning of the pandemic,” said Bret McGowan [Title]. “With the latest release of Valerus, users don’t need to cycle and swivel through multiple screens and interfaces to get the big picture of their operation. They can monitor, manage and respond right from Valerus.”
The latest user experience enhancements come directly from customer feedback. These updates include streamlined user management, centralized monitor management, and new user-friendly HTML camera reports.
This release also includes updates to make storage and archiving more flexible. Valerus can now map directly to network storage devices, whether a NAS device, someone else’s computer, another server, or even a data center. This gives users more control
of their data, allowing them to store long-term footage without the limitations of their local storage. This is ideal for facilities that want only short-term video storage on a local machine, but for security purposes, prefer to have Valerus store long-term footage ona secure network server.
Valerus 22.1 allows users to schedule archives conveniently, access archived footage without frustration, and set up in minutes with absolute flexibility. Users can schedule archives to occur whenever they want–whether they want them to archive in real time or only at night when bandwidth usage is low. Users also have a choice of recording all video or only video around events like motion detection to save space on their archive device.
This release has been tested extensively by the company’s beta community and is a stable release. It comes as an early adopter release to give the wider Vicon community the opportunity to provide feedback before formally updating the production version of Valerus.
