Vaidio Cloud provides users with the many benefits of cloud-based applications, making it easy to apply any combination of the 30 advanced AI video analytics functions available on the Vaidio AI Vision platform to any new or existing IP cameras and video infrastructures. Vaidio Cloud can be used with any private or public cloud platform using the open-source Kubernetes platform or the Vaidio Cloud Portal with AWS to support the solution’s advanced analytics capabilities.
Kubernetes
Vaidio Cloud uses Kubernetes to enable cloud service providers or enterprises with their own cloud solution to process videos on a Kubernetes-hosted site. An open-source container orchestration platform, Kubernetes uses operating system (OS) containers to simplify the deployment, scaling, and management of cloud applications. By isolating applications into distinct, user-specific containers, Kubernetes enables consistent performance for all users and easy systems management—without the cost or hassle of on-prem servers.
Kubernetes manages essential tasks such as load balancing and network traffic distribution to ensure optimal application availability and performance, and it empowers each user to dynamically manage resources by scaling up or down based on which analytics are needed at any given time. (For example, Face Recognition and Unique Visitor Count may be deactivated outside of business hours, while Intrusion Detection may be activated.) Though commonly used with Docker, this flexible platform is designed to be compatible with any container system, offering flexibility and choice to users.
Using Kubernetes, Vaidio Cloud supports secure multi-tenancy, ensuring that each user can host Vaidio in a discrete, self-contained environment that isolates usage and prevents issues or failures at other sites from impacting performance.
Cameras are connected either directly or via a gateway to secure and encrypt data transmission and network traffic. The Kubernetes platform's compatibility with multiple cloud service providers and its ability to manage multi-cloud, hybrid, and on-premise deployments makes it an essential tool for businesses transitioning to the cloud.
Vaidio Cloud Portal with AWS
For service providers or integrators and end users that do not host their own cloud, the solution includes the Vaidio Cloud Portal which runs on Amazon Web Services (AWS). This option enables users to host any or all analytics available on the Vaidio AI Vision Platform within their own virtual environment.
User friendly, flexible, and highly reliable, AWS eases the migration process from on-prem to the cloud and ensures the scalability and reliability that goes hand-in-hand with this best-in-class web services platform.
By providing users a choice of hosting options, this first release of Vaidio Cloud offers scalability, flexibility, and a faster, easier way to access the security benefits of advanced AI-enabled video analytics.
