ATLANTA, April 1, 201 - Moog Videolarm and Moog QuickSet, which specialize in designing and manufacturing high-performance sensor and surveillance systems, have begun rebranding themselves as Moog to signal that one company is collaborating to bring an array of advanced security technologies to commercial, industrial and military markets.
Moog Inc. acquired Northbrook, Ill.-based QuickSet in September 2007 to open opportunities for Moog in homeland security. Moog followed the acquisition with the purchase of Decatur, Ga.-based Videolarm in February 2009 to expand into the ruggedized, commercial surveillance markets.
There was clearly value in preserving both the QuickSet and Videolarm names initially, said Mike Peters, Vice President of Sensor and Surveillance Systems for Moog. But, after more than four years, customers now know QuickSet and Videolarm as Moog. Our rebranding effort is less about change and more about confirming what everyone already knows; we're one Moog.
The rebrand effort will gradually roll out with the two sites swapping out their current logos for the Moog logo on products and customer-facing materials, and updating their collateral to incorporate a new, technology blue color scheme. The effort will culminate in late 2013 with a single web site for the newly combined entity at www.moogS3.com.
The Moog Sensor and Surveillance Systems business unit recently developed a new line of high-definition (HD) network cameras called the EXO Series that can withstand contaminants, chemicals, corrosion, bullets, impacts, flammable gases and dust. Moog engineers from Decatur, Northbrook and the company's East Aurora, N.Y., headquarters contributed to the design of the new EXO Series high-definition camera systems. There are multiple models to meet the needs of various applications and additional models in development.
