January 25, 2016, ComNet, Communication Networks of Danbury, Connecticut, a USA-based manufacturer of fiber optic transmission and networking equipment, is introducing a new series of managed switches that are designed and manufactured at its Danbury, CT, USA facility. This change in sourcing is unique in the industry. ComNet will be one of the only companies in the industry to offer a domestically manufactured managed Ethernet switch. The company plans to introduce a complete line of managed Ethernet switches that will be made in the USA. ComNet has been manufacturing its products in the USA since 2008 and this product introduction will continue to solidify the product offering.
The first to be introduced is the all Gigabit CNGE11FX3TX8MSPoE managed switch with three SFP ports and eight TX Power over Ethernet ports. The switch is designed to protect the network it is being used on, offering multiple redundancy protocols to keep the network free from points of interruption. Two PoE options will be available for the TX ports. The standard PoE model delivers 30 watts of power to all eight TX ports while the second option will deliver up to 60 watts of power to four of the TX ports to support products that require more PoE.

The company believes offering a managed switch that is made in the USA will give ComNet an advantage in selling switches to both federal and state agencies that have a mandate to buy USA made products where available. ComNet products such as the CNGE11FX3TX8MSPoE are warrantied for life.
