Morpho Detection, Inc. ("MDI") is a subsidiary of SAFRAN Group and the General Electric Company ("GE").
In 2009, SAFRAN Group acquired an 81% controlling interest in GE Homeland Protection, Inc. Following the closing of the SAFRAN SA, Inc., and General Electric Company transaction on September 4, 2009, GE Homeland Protection, Inc. became Morpho Detection, Inc.
In October, 2002, GE acquired Ion Track, Inc., a market leader in the production of explosives and narcotics detection equipment, thereafter the company assumed the name GE Ion Track, Inc.
In 2004, GE acquired InVision, a market leader in the production of computed Tomography (CT) based explosives detection equipment; thereafter the company assumed the name GE InVision, Inc.
In 2006, GE merged GE Ion Track, Inc. and GE InVision, Inc., into one company known as GE Homeland Protection, Inc.
With manufacturing, research and development, sales and service facilities located across the globe, MDI is one of the few truly global manufacturers of detection technology for the security industry.
