Lenel enhances BlueDiamond platform, announces pathways feature
Pittsford, N.Y. – Sept. 20, 2018 – Lenel, a leading provider of advanced security systems, today announced enhancements to its cloud-based BlueDiamond mobile credentialing solution – including the new Pathways feature - making door access faster and more convenient. The new BlueDiamond Pathways feature will leverage GPS technology to provide users of the BlueDiamond mobile app the option of effortless, hands-free entry into pre-defined access points while the phone can remain in a pocket or bag. In addition, upgrades to BlueDiamond include cost-effective migration options for users of legacy Casi-Rusco access control systems and additional wireless lock support. Lenel is part of UTC Climate Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX).
The BlueDiamond solution enables one-click issuance and management of credentials with its mobile app, multi-factor readers and credentials tied together by a cloud server and tightly integrated with Lenel's industry-leading OnGuard security management system.
“The addition of Pathways to the BlueDiamond mobile application is one more way Lenel is working to make access control an effortless experience for users,” said Jeff Stanek, general manager, Lenel. “BlueDiamond readers provide a bridge from legacy plastic badges to cardless access control. And they can be easily integrated into existing systems.”
The multi-factor readers now support the Casi-Rusco existing F2/F protocol. Users can replace lower-security proximity cards with more secure options, ranging from the BlueDiamond mobile credentials using iOS, Apple Watch® and Android™ devices to MIFARE® DESFire® EV2 card technology.
“Legacy FCWinX and PicturePerfect users now have a lower-cost alternative to a total ‘rip and replace’ strategy, allowing them to increase security today and migrate to OnGuard in smaller steps as budgets permit.” Stanek said.
BlueDiamond readers now also support Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP) file transfer, allowing remote software updates from a secure network terminal, a simpler, less labor-intensive method eliminating the need to have trained personnel physically at each reader.
In North America, the ASSA ABLOY PN120 wireless lock will now be powered by the BlueDiamond solution and will enable easy installation and access, as well as lower-cost configurations.
The BlueDiamond ecosystem is based on United Technologies’ nearly 20 years of experience developing mobile credentialing technology. This technology has enabled the more than one million Bluetooth-based mobile credentials that have been created – for Lenel customers, and sister security brands – to facilitate secure, seamless, and mobile site access across multiple industries including energy, financial, hospitality and real estate.
The BlueDiamond enhancements will be on display Sept. 25-27 at the Global Security Exchange in Las Vegas and available later this year from Lenel value-added resellers throughout the Americas. For more information, visit www.lenel.com or follow @LenelSystems on Twitter.
