St. Charles, IL (April 1, 2013) – System Sensor today announced that it has launched its new i4 Series Combination CO/Smoke Detector and Integration Module. The i4 Series is the first low-voltage, system-connected, combination smoke and carbon monoxide detection solution on the market. With the ability to integrate the i4 into conventional security and fire panels, System Sensor customers can rest assured knowing they are providing the most comprehensive life safety solution for homeowners to date.
The i4 series is available in 2-wire and 4-wire versions, both with industry leading photoelectric smoke and electrochemical CO sensing technologies. The required i4 Integration Module greatly simplifies installation. Since the module sits next to the panel, the system uses about 75 percent fewer wires. This translates into lower installation cost and time without sacrificing performance. The i4 module is also compatible with System Sensor’s industry leading i3 Series smoke detectors with thermal sensors and built-in sounders, making it ideal for both new installations and retrofits. In fact, System Sensor customers can integrate up to 12 devices on a loop – in any combination of i4 and compatible i3 Series detectors.
“Our i4 Series combination detector can be a big competitive advantage for our customers,” says Justin Mayer, System Sensor Product Marketing Manager. “With i4, our customers will be able to install more systems in less time and at less cost, leading to higher RMR and increased profits…all while providing homeowners with the highest levels of protection available. And with less devices on the wall or ceiling than the separate device solution, our customers can overcome homeowners’ aesthetic objections to including CO with their fire and security systems.”
