Design, quality and attention to detail are just a few of the descriptives used to illustrate how the new Encore at Wynn Las Vegas will maintain its distinctive brand and position in the marketplace. And these very same qualities are what North American Video (NAV) is bringing to this latest addition to the Las Vegas Strip for their security operations.
As recently announced by NAV’s President, Cynthia Freschi, NAV has been contracted to design, supply and install a complementary video surveillance and security system at the Encore at Wynn Las Vegas. The 2,034 all-suite hotel tower will be fully integrated with Wynn Las Vegas’ security operations covering the Encore’s 72,000 square foot casino, additional convention and meeting spaces as well as five restaurants, seven bars and lounges, a nightclub, swimming pools, a spa and salon, and 11 retail outlets.
"The Wynn properties represent the standard of excellence in the gaming and hospitality industry and we are honored to be involved in this high profile project," said Ms. Freschi. "It is also a pleasure for North American Video to be working again with management and the Wynn organization, and we value the confidence they have placed in us."
The security and surveillance system at the Encore at Wynn Las Vegas will have a Honeywell 1536 x 64 Security Matrix Switch and a 1024 x 64 Surveillance Matrix Switch installed in the Encore’s Data Center. The systems will be tied back to the existing security and surveillance systems at Wynn Las Vegas using fiber and a satellite connection. In addition to providing security and surveillance monitoring of the new resort, the new system will also provide coverage for the new employee parking facility and the pedestrian bridge linking it to the resort.
Approximately 2,000 cameras will be installed in the Encore with images recorded on enterprise-level digital network video recorders and supported by network and RAID systems as well as failover servers and redundant CPUs. Like the Wynn Las Vegas, the new security and surveillance systems will also be integrated with Point of Sale (POS) units located throughout the facility with integration to life safety systems. Additionally, the existing security and surveillance monitoring rooms located at Wynn Las Vegas will be physically expanded to meet the added needs generated by the Encore.
"We cut our teeth on the Wynn Las Vegas with what we believe is the gaming industry’s most advanced integrated digital security solution which set the groundwork for the installation we implemented at Wynn Macau," said Ms. Freschi. "At the new Encore, we are designing an integrated security and surveillance solution with advanced capabilities that also seamlessly integrates with existing systems at Wynn Las Vegas. We have set very high expectations for this project and our design delivers the level of performance, integration and expansion capability that the Wynn team has come to expect from North American Video."
The new Wynn Encore is scheduled to open in December, 2008.
