Nest to offer video alarm verification through I-View partnership
Nest Labs, which recently launched a DIY home security solution – Nest Secure – announced last week that it has entered into a partnership with I-View Now that will enable the company’s security dealers to offer video alarm verification services to customers that have a Nest Cam security camera and any brand of alarm system installed.
The new service, which will provide Nest Pro dealers with access to additional recurring revenue streams, integrates security system signals and Nest’s Wi-Fi-connected cameras, giving end-users, monitoring station operators, and authorized emergency responders visual confirmation of security incidents. Because is it cloud-based, I-View Now does not require any additional software or hardware in the monitoring station or for emergency responders.
“When speaking with our partners, we saw a clear opportunity to build stronger relationships with these dealers and create a great proposition for our joint customers. With video alarm verification from I-View, owners of any combination of Nest Cam security camera and any brand of security system won’t just get an alert on their phone - they’ll also get the peace of mind that comes with knowing that emergency responders are aware of their need,” said Gene LaNois, head of Nest’s Professional Channel.
Perhaps best known for its development of intelligent thermostats and other smart home products, Nest is now making a larger push into the home security market and is leveraging the professional dealer channel in the process. In conjunction with Nest Secure, which will provide consumers with an alarm system, video doorbell, outdoor security camera, and corresponding software and services, the company is offering professional monitoring through MONI Smart Security. The company’s aforementioned Nest Pro Program also enables dealers to expand their businesses by offering Nest products and services to their existing customer bases.
