Building on the success of the Google Nest Doorbell integration in January, ADT has announced it will now sell, install and service the indoor Google Nest Cam, outdoor Nest Cam, Nest Cam with floodlight, Nest Wifi and Thermostats, plus Nest speakers and displays.
We reached another major milestone…with the national rollout of more Google Nest products after a West region launch a few weeks ago,” ADT CEO Jim DeVries said during the company’s earnings call in early August. “I can't fully express the level of excitement we've seen from our customers, our sales team and installation technicians for these Google products.”
In the earnings call, DeVries went on to note the upcoming rollout of the new ADT+ app, which will work in concert with the self-setup Google product suite – expected before the end of the year.
“To support these product rollouts, we'll be launching our first joint marketing and advertising campaign with Google in the fall,” DeVries said.
ADT reported a 23% increase in year-over-year residential installation revenue per unit in the second quarter “on the strength of the [Google Nest] doorbell launch earlier this year,” DeVries said, adding that he expects that trend to continue with the additional Google camera and thermostat rollout.
“Another important factor is the frequency of interaction with their system,” DeVries said. “With the extension of the Google products, we now see more ADT customers choosing interactive, integrated and more comprehensive systems.”
New and current ADT customers have the option to order Nest devices directly through ADT, have them professionally installed in their homes, and begin streamlined Nest Aware billing through ADT. Customers can also opt to use ADT’s new ADT Virtual Assistance platform to add select Nest devices themselves with support from a virtual specialist.
“Both organizations have worked well together,” DeVries noted. “We have done a lot of work setting the pins to roll this out and make sure the customer experience is excellent. It is terrific to see it come to fruition.”
