Tel Aviv, June 18, 2018 – Essence, providers of connected-living technologies for senior independent-living and cloud-based home security and management, has won the ESX Innovation Award for PERS Systems. The award recognizes Essence’s continued advancement in the use of voice technologies to improve seniors’ safety. Care@Home Communicator is the next generation version of the VPD, which previously won the award in 2016.
In addition to the original version’s Intelligent Voice Activation™ that allows seniors to receive immediate response in any situation, the Care@Home Communicator enables voice extension over the whole house, a two-way voice conversation, resident location capabilities, all on battery-operated devices than can be installed in every room of the home, including the shower where most falls occur.
Since its commercial launch in 2014, Essence’s Care@Home Independent Senior Living solutions have consistently won awards in the IoT, security and health sectors for their constant innovation in enabling seniors to live a safer and more independent life, while giving their family members the peace of mind that they are cared for.
From activity monitoring with self-learning behavior pattern analysis to a variety of smart alerting devices, as well as ground breaking mobility solutions, Care@Home has been recognized for enhancing the industry with emergency and lifestyle solutions for in-home and on-the-go monitoring.
With the latest development, the monitoring stations can respond to any emergency, triggered by voice, fall detection or panic button; locate the resident wherever they may be; and then verify the extent of the emergency, provide on-the-spot remote assistance, and ensure that help is provided quickly. The technology can also be used by professionals or family members to periodically check in on residents or remind them to take medication and to eat.
The Care@Home Communicator is the second of Essence’s major announcements in this sphere for 2018. Earlier this year, the company also announced to the US market that they have become one of the first PERS companies to release an LTE-enabled control panel to allow senior care providers to prepare for the upcoming 3G sunset.
“We are proud to continue receiving recognition for our ongoing contribution to senior care through excellent and innovative technologies,” said Yaniv Amir, President of Essence USA. “By providing our partners with these solutions that exceed their customers’ expectations, they are able to provide the best services while growing their businesses.”
