School Dangers Organization names Connie Moorhead as president

Organization's goal is to improve school security through advocacy, education and application of technology

OCTOBER 16, 2017 (DENTON, TX) – Connie Moorhead, CEO of The CMOOR Group, has been named president of the School Dangers Organization, a 501(c)3 organization which strives to improve school security nationwide through advocacy, education and application of technology.  Moorhead is joined by Secretary Maria Cambria, Vice President, Technical Center of Excellence with FLIR Systems and Treasurer Gregory Bernardo, physical security expert with more than 20 years’ experience.

“We accomplish our mission by educating the public, fostering an environment for open discussion, and by delivering services for training, planning, regulatory compliance, and improved communication between students, parents and school officials,” said Moorhead.  “I look forward to continuing to advance our mission with the leadership support of Maria and Gregory.”

Moorhead is a highly accomplished chief executive and education and development expert with 28 years of experience across the physical security, fire and life safety, manufacturing, and distribution industries. Throughout her executive career she has held leadership positions at many innovative eLearning, technical education and HR services companies, including The CMOOR Group, Construction Zone, National Processing Company and Ceridian. Since founding The CMOOR Group in 2000, grew the company into a multimillion-dollar business, achieving sustainable profitability and personally securing contracts with Fortune 100 companies. Moorhead holds a Bachelor’s in Psychology and Philosophy from the University of Louisville. She is actively involved with several non-profit including ATD, the eLearning Guild, the National Association of Female Executives, and the National Association of Women Business Owners.

Cambria led high performing teams in Israel, Spain, UK, Mexico and India to implement best practices in specific focus areas to drive top line growth in alignment with overall business objectives. She launched a Global Support Group that provided technical support to more than 1,500 internal and external customers. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from St. Michaels College.

Bernardo’s experience in sales and marketing, his technical background, and his interest as a parent were driving factors in the creation and vision of the School Dangers Organization. He authored “A Primer on Electronic Security for Schools, Universities & Institutions” and his understanding of product development and product marketing have contributed to the success of new security industry products in the market. His computer science background and continued self-education has allowed him to develop custom standalone and integrated database products for SaaS cloud and onsite environments. His understanding of product development and product marketing have been a direct result or contributed to the success.

School Dangers Organization works to help school officials, parents and students understanding these changes, encourage discussion, and overall make it easier for schools to improve the safety and security of our nation’s children.
