Videology Imaging Solutions introduces its newest USB board camera, 20C20XW-USB which uses Pixim’s popular wide dynamic range Seawolf sensor, to complement its comprehensive line of feature-rich USB cameras. It is the first Pixim based USB camera in the world and now in full production.
Videology has designed, produced and supported USB cameras for over 15 years. Our extensive secure Microsoft certified WHQL drivers and comprehensive SDK have evolved to serve the most complex systems, including flash requirements. The same USB driver manages all of our USB cameras.
A TWAIN interface has been created as well! TWAIN is preferred in many applications for ease of incorporating peripheral devices.
The US Army has recently deployed over 3000 of Videology’s USB cameras as its first choice for Photo ID badging. Global Border Patrol projects have used thousands annually as well as ATM’s, Eye Diagnostic Equipment and Analytical Instrumentations . . . including the smallest of hand held devices.
Miniaturization continues to be a major strength of Videology’s design engineers. The Pixim Seawolf USB camera is a mere 32 mm square by 18.5 mm deep, without lens. Power and video is all through one single USB cable.
A CS style metal lens mount has been designed by Videology for the Pixim Seawolf sensor to complement the metal M12 and M14 lens mounts already on Videology existing Pixim based CCTV cameras. Thus, now, even the highest quality instrumentation grade lenses can be used on this powerful WDR camera.
The popular Seawolf can capture precise images in virtually any lighting environment, or any extreme Wide Dynamic Range scene up to 120dB. Highlight overloads are suppressed to view the necessary information within a scene, whether it is a human face in front of a setting sun or an animal in the dark of night within an auto’s blooming headlights. Industrially, it is complete acquisition of detailed data needed to process and decode within a computer program.
Colors are maintained as pure, rich and true regardless of mixed lighting conditions such as a combination of outdoor light, indoor fluorescent light, halogen etc.
Market demand for USB and Pixim WDR technology has come from applications ranging from ATMs, kiosks, analytical equipment and transportation and traffic monitoring.
The USB Seawolf board camera joins Videology’s USB 2.0 family of cameras suited for the smallest footprint. Board and housed versions are available to OEMs and integrators requiring a high quality product with a five-year minimum lifetime of availability and support.
