Lenel Prism Video Management System offers performance enhancements, increased functionality

Pittsford, N.Y., April 15, 2015 – Lenel Systems International, Inc. has announced the newest version of its advanced, intuitive video management software, Prism 1.2, with performance enhancements and increased functionality that make it an ideal video monitoring system (VMS) for demanding video environments. Lenel is part of UTC Building & Industrial Systems, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

Built using the latest IT and video surveillance industry standards, Prism offers a fully integrated video and access environment when paired with Lenel’s industry-leading OnGuard platform. It also provides a single user interface to event, alarm monitoring and system administration functions, and can be installed as a standalone VMS.

“Prism 1.2 provides an array of performance, feature and usability updates,” said Mike Chiavacci, general manager, global video solutions, Lenel and Interlogix. “The combinations of Prism and OnGuard platforms deliver a robust, seamless video and access solution that is perfect for enterprise applications.”

New features in Prism 1.2 include:

  • An embedded video matrix ideal for command center operations. Easily push live, recorded or event video to multiple monitors for remote video sharing. This feature can be activated through additional licensing without any add-on management software required.
  • Support for Lenel NVR 7.1, delivering quicker video retrieval. Also support for more than 500 camera models from leading manufacturers including Interlogix, Axis, Panasonic and many more.
  • Automated video triggers for OnGuard alarms that provide operators increased awareness.
  • USB joystick support for controlling a wide range of video viewing, searching and recording operations.
  • Prism 1.2 also supports multiple recorder options, including the UltraView® family of recorders, from Interlogix.

The redesigned Graphical User Interface (UI) is more user-friendly for operators’ eyes in dark command center environments. In addition to the new UI, this release also makes it easier for operators to use flexible camera drag-and-drop functions between different menus within the software.

Prism 1.2 is available in both professional and enterprise configurations. Tiered pricing ensures a cost-effective point-of-entry for organizations with small and less-complex environments, with incremental upgrades as system needs grow.

Advanced and intuitive forensics tools allow synchronized video playback, event-based and time-lapse video browsing. Evidence Locker consolidates multiple data sources for managing and reporting incidents; Event Storyboard sequentially maps incidents; and Filmstrip is a mode to find missing or added objects in continuous recorded video.

“Prism 1.2 has the scalability and flexibility to meet an organization’s evolving video surveillance needs,” said Chiavacci. “The feature-rich set of tools maximizes the use of the video workspace and combined with OnGuard integration promotes fast, high-quality decision-making, reduced training costs and more efficient use of personnel.”

The new Prism 1.2 software is available now through Lenel Value Added Resellers, or VARs.
