BAY CITY, Mich., Feb. 17, 2020—DICE Corporation is pleased to announce a partnership with our sister company, IPtelX, to offer an industry exclusive alarm signal network that prioritizes the delivery of alarm signal. This collaboration allows monitoring companies and central stations to significantly reduce transmission errors caused by communications disparities between VoIP technology and analog systems.
Designed to work with traditional configurations, the alarm signal network enables alarm panels to be connected to a POTS line and travel over our networks to a receiver in the cloud or at the alarm center. By working directly with DICE and removing the middle carriers that compress the signal, this new system identifies, resolves and eliminates common problems associated with the transmission of complex alarm signals, ensuring the clearest possible signaling route.
IPtelX can also provide a last mile solution that replaces traditional telephone lines at the premises with a direct, 100% controlled connection to the panel using the customer’s internet connection. This provides users with a point-to-point link, eliminating the challenges associated with using middle carriers.
These options are made possible by DICE’s in-house SIP-based channel bank, which takes VoIP and SIP transmissions from modern telecom signaling and converts each SIP channel to a POTS line connected to the alarm receivers. DICE is also the manufacturer of a SIP-based UL listed alarm receiver. This is a key component of our ability to handle dual tone multi frequency (DTMF) alarm formats; other receivers will not accept DTMF dispersed or condensed arrangements. This receiver also provides DICE with the ability to take VoIP and SIP alarm calls without converting them to analog POTS lines, noticeably improving the quality of calls.
